Sustainability

From the very outset, the primary design goal of the Lomax System was to develop a solution that could be reused again and again and again!

This reusability helps ensure that less ‘one-use’ waste material finds its way into landfill and also ensures that it makes financial sense to own the system as the payback is only a few uses.

In addition to wanting to design, develop, produce a reusable system we are also aligned with the United Nations Global Sustainability Goals. We believe that ‘Every positive action you take, no matter how small, has the power to make a difference’. We specifically align to the following:

Sustainability

Centred on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages

  • Place yourself on the organ and tissue donors’ registry in your country.
  • Vaccinate yourself and your kids. Protecting your family from disease also aids public health.
  • Donate your blood. Safe blood saves lives.

Building a resilient infrastructure, promoting sustainable industrialisation, and fostering innovation

  • Find a charity you want to support. Any donation, big or small, can make a difference.
  • Invest in clean and resilient infrastructure.
  • Stay informed. Stay in touch with the Global Goals online or on social media.

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable

  • Shop, eat and drink locally. Supporting neighbourhood businesses keeps people employed.
  • Take care of public spaces – water the greenery, trim and plant trees, renovate sports areas and playgrounds.
  • Commute in a sustainable way – bike, walk or take public transport.

Consumers make sustainable choices and production processes so as to minimise environmental harm

  • Choose reusable products. Use an eco-bag for shopping, a reusable water bottle or a cup to reduce your plastic waste.
  • Be conscious of packaging – the less the better.
  • Do some research and buy from companies you know have sustainable practices.
  • Commute in a sustainable way – bike, walk or take public transport.

Envisions a world where natural ecosystems are conserved and the environment thrives

  • Recycle paper, glass, plastic, metal and old electronics.
  • Compost. Composting food scraps can reduce climate impact while also recycling nutrients.
  • Reduce your use of paper. Avoid printing and substitute it with electronic devices or carriers.
