Calculate the type and quantity of Lomax System components you need for your project
Our reusable, modular components can deliver a range of structurally engineered and compliant configurations for:
- Indoor barricades (up to 8mH)
- Outdoor barricades (up to 4mH with various wind speeds)
- Temporary Fencing (all environments with various wind speeds)
We have completed the required testing for all configurations and provide simple guides so that the correct volume of counterweight is used in accordance to its environment for compliance.
It’s really simple and all structural engineering documents are provided.
Indoor Barricade Example (for Impact and Climb Test Capability)
Our counterweights are 40lb each so for an indoor barricade at 8ft it only requires 3 x Lomax Counterweights (per stack) and 1 x Large Lomax Support Post on the rear of each panel join at max 4ft spacing to support the panels and timbers.
Then for 10ft it only requires 4 x Lomax Counterweights (per stack) and 1 x Large Lomax Support
Our easy calculator confirms the quantity of Lomax counterweights that you’d need for indoor barricades to freestand up to a massive 26ft.
Outdoor Barricades
Outdoor barricades need to mitigate and manage the additional wind pressure of the specific location / environment they are in.
Factors such as Topography, Shielding and Terrain need to be considered for the specific location of your installation.
Unlike an indoor barricade, you may also need to construct an outdoor barricade with a ‘double stack’ of counterweights or even space them closer at 2ft intervals so you can achieve greater mass weight for overall stability and compliance – We have specifically designed a ‘Double-Stack Support Post’ to offer the easiest approach to constructing an outdoor barricade that requires this ‘double stack’ of counterweights.
We have developed a simple ‘System Configurator’ that can assist you with your build requirements and confirm the quantity of weight required for multiple wind speeds.
Outdoor Barricade Example
An outdoor barricade at 8ft with a wind speed capability of 51Mph might require a double stack of ‘8+8’ x Lomax Counterweights (back-to-back) and 1 x Double Support Post on the rear of each panel join at 4ft spacing / intervals to support the panels and timbers that you would add.
We have completed the wind computations for many outdoor configurations and provide a simply guide so that you can offer the correct ‘weight-to-height-to-wind speed’ ratio – It’s very easy and all instructions are provided.
Use our simple ‘Lomax System – Outdoor Configurator’ to understand what quantity of modular components you would need for your project.
Lomax Technical and Installation Guide
The intent of this guide is to clearly describe and illustrate the build process and structural certification parameters of the various indoor and outdoor modular configurations for the Lomax Barricade and Fencing System – For additional information please contact us.
National Barricade Design & Installation Service
If you would prefer us (or one of our many Dealers) to manage your barricade installation and would rather not the hire or purchase of the structural equipment yourselves, we provide a complete barricade design and installation service for you nationwide.
